Located at the foot of the Rock of Cashel, the centre is run by Comhaltas Ceolt¥ir¦ +ireann, an organisation committed to the promotion of Irish Music, Culture and Arts. The centre incoprorates a folk theatre, restaurant, craft centre, information centre and genealogy suite.

Cahir Castle
Founded by Conor O'Brien in 1142 and passed to the Butler family in 1375.l It was surrendered to Cromwell in 1650 without a struggle, consequently the castle is remarkably intact.

Holy Cross Abbey
Located 6km south-west of Thurles beside the River Suir, a Cistercian abbey that was in ruins until the early 1970's. Founded in 1168 although most of the buildings remaining today date from the 15th century.
