Avondale House
Located 1.5km south of Rathdrum, designed by James Wyatt in 1779. In 1846 the Irish politician Charles Stewart Parnell was born at Avondale House. There are also 209 hectares of woodland with an arboretum and nature walks.

Glendalough
An ancient monastic site situated in the Wicklow Mountains. St. Kevin established a monastery here in the 6th-century, most of the present buildings date from between the 10th and 12th centuries. The monastery was sacked by the Vikings at least 4 times between 775 and 1071. In 1398 English forces from Dublin almost completely destroyed it, following attempts to rebuild it the monastery was used up until the 17th century.

Greenan Maze & Museums

Located in Ballinanty, Greenan, Rathdrum. The Farm Museum has an exhibition of implements and tools, some of which date back to the Famine. The Bottle Museum holds a large collection of antique 19th century and early 20th century bottles. The Old Farmhouse Museum dates from the 16th century and was a safe-house for Michael Dwyer in 1798 and was last lived in by the storyteller Tom O'Neill. The complex also contains a craft shop, a farm walk and a maze.
