Ballintubber Abbey
Located on the road to Galway south of Castlebar, is the only church in Ireland founded by an Irish king and is still in use today. Dating from 1216 it is next to the site of an earlier church founded by St. Patrick after he came down from Croagh Patrick.

C?ide Fields
Located 8km west of Ballycastle, now run by the D·chas as an Interpretive Centre detailing aspects of the site's architecture, botany and geology. Over 5000 years ago the CÚide Fields had a wheat and barley farming community, eventually the stone walls and farm buildings were engulfed by the bog. The farms lay buried for thousands of years and are now open to the public as the most extensive Stone Age monument in the world.
