Castletown House
Located in Celbridge, built between 1722 and 1732 for William Connolly, who rose to become speaker of the Irish House of Commons, is said to be Ireland's largest private house. The house remained with the Connolly family until 1965, when it was bought by the Guinness family, who ran it in conjunction with the Irish Georgian Society. In 1979 the Castletown Federation took it over and it is now cared for by D·chas.

Celbridge Abbey
Built in the 1690s by Bartholomew van Homrigh, a Dutch merchant who became Lord Mayor of Dublin. The abbey is now owned by the St John of God Brothers but the picturesque gardens are open to the public.
