Dundrum Castle
Located 4km south of Clough on the shore of Dundrum Bay, built in 1177 by de Courcy. In 1210 the castle was confiscated by King John. In 1652 Cromwell blew it up after capturing it from the Magennises.

Green Castle
Located at the north side of Carlingford Lough, the strong stone walls of 13th century Greencastle frame views of the Mourne Mountains. Its soldiers saw many battles right up to the time of the Bangnels in the 16th and 17th centuries.

Grey Abbey
Surrounded by an 18th century parkland at one end of Greyabbey village, the 12th century church and cloister of a Cistercian monastery looks impressive. The monks were self-sufficient, farming their estate and the herbal medicines from their garden.

Inch Abbey
Located 1.5km from Downpatrick, built in 1180 by de Courcy for the Cistercians. The Cistercians had a strict policy of non-admittance to Irishmen and managed this for nearly 400 years before closing in 1541.
